Dear Professor Leaf,

It was good to meet you over the phone this afternoon.

I wanted to direct you to a few of the pages on our website that may be of interest.

First, public or private entities applying for new solid waste facility permits or facility amendments, must give a presentation to the Resource Conservation Council (RCC) outlining how the proposed facility or amendment is consistent with the region’s Solid Waste Management Plan. Guidelines to applicants are available on the web at http://www.dfwinfo.com/nctcog/envir/sw/strategy/guide.html. A list of facilities seeking a new permit or amendment in the North Central Texas region since 1994 is available on the web at http://www.nctcog.dst.tx.us/envir/sw/strategy/atdc/facstats.asp.

Information on individual solid waste facilities can be accessed on our website from http: //www.nctcog.dst.tx.us/envir/sw/facility/facquery.html.

The information collected by Southwest Texas University on the closed and abandoned landfills in the North Central Texas region is available on the Internet at http://www.nctcog.dst.tx.us/envir/sw/abndfill/ablandfill.html. The GIS point locations can be downloaded from http://gis.dfwinfo.com/geodata/index.asp. Please remember that the accuracy of the Closed Landfill information will be significantly improved over the next couple of years. Sarah Benedict, project contact, can be reached at
817—695—9228.

Finally, information on Texas Watch can be found on the TNRCC website at http://www.tnrcc.state.tx.us/txwatch/index.html.

I will mail you information on the proposed Construction Debris Recycling and Landfill Facility in Collin County as well as a map of all the Solid Waste Facilities in the region today.

Take care and have a great day!
