First, public or private entities applying for new solid waste facility permits or facility amendments, must give a presentation to the Resource Conservation Council (RCC) outlining how the proposed facility or amendment is consistent with the region’s Solid Waste Management Plan. The information collected by Southwest Texas University on the closed and abandoned landfills in the North Central Texas region is available on the Internet at http://www.nctcog.dst.tx.us/envir/sw/abndfill/ablandfill.html.
